What are friends for?

Friends...

 People who we supposedly choose
People who we bond with, sometimes more often than with family
People who know our innermost secrets and passions
People who love us despite our shortcomings
People who we can call at the dead of the night
People who stand by you when a kin dies
People who give you a loan, a shoulder to cry

 Friends...

 People who talk incessantly about their kids once they are married, does not matter if you are single
People who selfishly call you when they need to get information
People who miss your call when they are with their loved ones and vow that they were in a meeting
People who tell your parents that you drink
People who call you up on your birthday and forget to wish
People who reveal your worst nightmare to strangers
People who tell you that your job sucks when you get promoted
People who cozy up when your social status improves
People who claim to be in touch with all your updates but do not read your blog or your book if you publish one
People who follow your status updates on FB and Twitter but are not aware of your emotional upheavals

Friends...

A few and a couple who listen to you when you need an ear
One or two who give you good advice when you need it

Ode to the few who I love, rest, go FO.

Nithya Suresh Kaun Hai?

Nithya Suresh Kaun Hai? Well, this would be the case a few hours ago. But now, 1 hour later, its a fact. A simple yeah, has completed my journey. Maybe I am crazy to say yes, without even thinking. But I had already decided to say yes even without meeting the guy. The Groom, to be exact. Suresh alias Subramanian, would have been my Prince Charming. A would be husband. But destiny had other plans in store. Suresh, withered away without even a trace. My beloved parents spurned him. He was shooed away, because, he turned out to be something else that he originally wasn't. His lies, had turned him into a non-performing asset. NPA. Suresh had to go. He had not completed the formalities. He had lied about his qualifications and job. He had to be stopped from starting the engagement formalities. A phone call took care of that.
